China-Vietnam Railway Cooperation Accelerates

China-Vietnam Railway Cooperation Accelerates, LTRF Seizes New Development Opportunities

At the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chung met with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng. They prioritized China-Vietnam railway connectivity and confirmed the 2025 start of the Lao Cai-Hanoi-Haiphong Railway, creating big opportunities for railway equipment firms.

The Lao Cai-Hanoi-Haiphong Railway stretches 390.9 kilometers. It uses the 1435mm standard gauge and requires about $8.369 billion in investment. Once finished, it will open a fast route from southwest China to Southeast Asia’s maritime shipping network. Meanwhile, planning speeds up for supporting railways like Lang Son-Hanoi and Mong Cai-Halong-Haiphong. The “Smart Port” at Youyiguan Port also advances, expanding market space for railway construction.

The project faces challenges, such as complex terrain in northern Vietnam and cross-border standard alignment. To address this, China and Vietnam plan to set up a joint railway cooperation committee for overall coordination, ensuring project implementation. These cooperation moves will directly boost demand for railway equipment like rails, fasteners, and electrification gear.

Linzhou Public Service Railway Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a professional railway equipment maker, closely tracks the project. It will actively join cooperation with standard-compliant, high-quality products. It aims to expand market layout via China-Vietnam railway connectivity and contribute to regional transportation construction.
