Definition:
Insulated fish plate is a special splint used to connect two steel rails in railway track engineering.

The main difference between it and ordinary fish plate:
Insulated fish plate is usually made of high-strength insulating materials (such as glass fiber reinforced resin, composite materials, etc.) or an insulating layer is embedded in the metal splint to block current conduction between steel rails.
