Description of The 4-hole Fish Plate
The 4-hole fish plate, commonly known as a rail splint, has significant differences from the 6-hole fish plate (standard fish plate) in terms of design, application scenarios, and performance. The specific differences are as follows:
1.Applicable rail types and load levels
It is mainly used for light rails (below 30kg/m), such as rails of 15kg/m, 22kg/m, and 30kg/m. Such rails are usually applied in low-speed, light-load scenarios like mines and factories, where the requirements for connection strength are relatively low. For example, the rail splint used for 22kg/m light rails has a length of approximately 350mm and a thickness of 16mm, suitable for pairing 4 bolt holes.
2.Connection strength and mechanical properties
4-hole rail splint: The 4 bolt holes provide basic connection, but their shear and tensile strength are limited. Its design focuses on meeting the static stability of light rails and cannot withstand high-frequency vibrations of trains or heavy load impacts.
3.Size and structural design
It has a compact size, with a length usually ranging from 300mm to 500mm and a thickness of 14-16mm. For example, the rail splint for 30kg/m light rails has a length of 561mm and a height of 45.54mm, suitable for pairing smaller rail cross-sections.
4.Installation and maintenance
4-hole rail splint: It is easy to install, requiring only 4 bolts, which is suitable for rapid construction. However, due to fewer connection points, regular checks on bolt tightness are necessary to prevent loosening.
5.Industry standards and specifications
4-hole rail splint: It complies with light rail standards (such as GB11265-89) and is applicable to non-trunk railways or temporary lines.
